Are you treating your car better than your body? #1

I was filling up gas in my car and thinking to myself about how infrequently we think about food as fuel. That’s what food is. Food is fuel for our bodies. Yes food is comfort, and food is yummy, but the main purpose of food is to fuel our body. But how many times do we put junk and garbage in our bodies? Far too often. Ask yourself, “Am I treating my car better than my body?” Have you ever taken a clump of dirt and put it into your gas tank? Of course not! You would never do something so stupid to your car. So why are you doing it to yourself? Think about what goes into your gas tank, and treat your body at least as good as you would treat your car. (And yes, the reason this post has a #1 at the end of it, is because there is a #2 coming up.)

I just want to say that I have learned so much in just the last few days from reading through this website. I love that our doctors take the time to communicate with us in a more relaxed environment about any issue we may encounter. Dr. Keilin, thank you for sharing the recipe for protein drinks with skim milk and sugar free/fat free pudding…i tried it and absolutely love it. I cannot tell you how much better I am feeling since starting on the protein powder with this recipe. My energy level has increased, and I just feel so much healthier. I have made a commitment to eating much healthier, thanks to your pointers and articles, and I’m making better choices with what “fuel” I am putting into my tank…thank you for this wonderful service you give to your patients.
