First I am really sorry that someone feels that Dr. Hekier is rude. He has never been rude to me in anyway, shape, fashion or form. Secondly, I wonder if you think he is rude because his tone of voice? I'm almost positive he wouldn't be rude. Thirdly, Why are you so judgemental on someone who has clearly helped many people who had struggled with their weight. Fourthly, maybe he isn't rude and it was only your perception and attitude! I'm really sorry that someone feels that he is rude. Here is a thought though: If he was "rude," was there just cause? And Even doctors have bad days I imagine. They are only human!! Everyone is entitled to their opinion but as far as I am concerned there are many, many, MANY people who would completely disagree that he is a rude man. It just goes to show that maybe you really don't know him at all and passed judement way to quickly!!!

Lisa, that's great!
One patient on Monday told me that she was in such bad shape that she used to get short of breath taking a shower, and would actually have to step out of the shower and sit down for a few minutes to catch her breath and then return. She had her surgery about 2 years ago (when she was 65 years old) and has lost about 130 pounds since then.
Now she's off of all of her diabetes and high blood pressure pills, and is going camping and generally more active than she has in years. Now that is a success story!
