For those of you old enough to remember, Muhammed Ali was the self proclaimed greatest fighter of all time. Well, one of his daughters, Khaliah Ali has written a book called “Fighting Weight : How I Achieved Healthy Weight Loss with “Banding,” a New Procedure That Eliminates Hunger–Forever.”
Her book is about her experience with the Band. At her heaviest, Khaliah Ali, who is 5 feet, 8 inches, weighed 325 pounds and said she’d spent most of her life yo-yo dieting in an attempt to lose the weight. She is down to about 150 pounds after her Lap Band surgery.
We are holding a drawing for a copy of the book for our patients.

It’s great to see that this surgery is changing many lives for the better. It sure is changing mine. I love to read and even if I don’t win….I’m buying this book. There really aren’t a lot of books about the lap band and living with it for life (and different experiences that happen after the band).

My surgery was the best thing that ever happened. I done really well since I got my band. Got sick this year and had to have my band redone after little problem, but everything is going well for me now. I would say to anyone thing about the surgery to go for it. Believe me you will be glad you did.
